Is VibeTyper on-device or cloud?
Cloud. VibeTyper's own copy describes audio being processed and discarded on their servers — a strong retention policy, honestly stated. TypeMic removes the question entirely: transcription runs on your machine, and no audio is transmitted anywhere.
What's the difference between a privacy policy and privacy by architecture?
A policy says what a company chooses not to keep; it can change, and you can't verify it from outside. Architecture is what the software cannot do: TypeMic has no upload path for your voice — unplug the network and dictation still works, which you can test yourself.
Is TypeMic's free tier bigger than VibeTyper's?
