Does Willow Voice work on Linux?
No. As of September 3, 2026 their pricing page lists Mac, Windows and iPhone, with Android marked coming soon. TypeMic is built for the Linux desktop first: hold a hotkey, speak, release, and the words are typed at your cursor in terminals, browsers, IDEs and chat.
Is Willow Voice private?
By their own policy, more than most. Private Mode is the default and does not retain audio or dictated text; an optional mode retains anonymized dictated text to improve their models, and their transcription runs through service providers under retention limits. TypeMic removes the providers from the picture: every dictation runs on TypeMic's own Predator engine, is typed, and is discarded. Never stored, never used to train, no voice logs, and no mode to get wrong.
