Founder edition

500 places. $149 once. Nothing today.

TypeMic has not launched yet — there is nothing to download, and this page will not pretend otherwise. What you can do is claim one of 500 founder places: a lifetime licence for a single $149 payment that happens only on the day the Linux app ships. We save your card now and charge it then. If we never ship, you are never charged.

Reserving costs nothing and can be undone. Waiting is the only thing here that can cost you something — these 500 are the only founder licences that will ever exist, and when they are gone the price is gone with them.

$149 once

charged the day the Linux app ships — $0 now

TypeMic Pro is $120 a year. A founder licence pays for itself in about fifteen months and then never costs you anything again.

  • TypeMic Pro, unlimited, for life — no subscription, ever
  • Every platform TypeMic ships, as it ships
  • Cancel any time before the charge, in one click
  • Transcription stays on your machine — that never changes

Next step is Stripe, to save your card. You will not be charged today.

How this works

1

You reserve a place. Stripe saves your card. The amount charged today is $0.

2

We build in the open. You get the development notes, and your place is held while we do.

3

The Linux app ships. That is the day the $149 is charged — the first day you can actually use what you paid for.

4

Changed your mind before then? Cancel from your confirmation link. Card removed, place released, no email exchange.

Why a reservation and not a pre-order

Because TypeMic’s entire argument is that you should not have to take our word for anything — transcription runs on your machine so that trust is not required. Taking money for software that does not exist yet would contradict that on day one. A card on file says you are serious; a charge before delivery would just say we were.

Questions

When am I charged?

On the day the Linux app is released, and not before.

Can I cancel?

Any time before that charge, from the link on your confirmation — no account, no email required. Your card is removed and your place goes back into the pool.

Why only 500?

A lifetime licence is a permanent cost to us. The number has to be finite for the pricing to stay honest, and when the places are gone the offer is over for good.

What if TypeMic never ships?

You are never charged. That is the entire reason this is a reservation and not a sale.

Is this cheaper than subscribing?

It is a different deal, not a discount on the same one: founders pay once instead of every year. See pricing for the regular plans.
