Founders reserved a place. Stripe saved the card; the amount charged on reservation day was $0.
We kept building, and founders watched. Founders got the development notes, and their places were held while we did.
The Linux app shipped. That was the day the $149 was charged, the first day a founder could actually use what they paid for.
Changed minds cost nothing. Cancelling, any time before the charge, removed the card and released the place.
Why a reservation and not a pre-order
Because TypeMic’s entire argument is that you should not have to take our word for anything: dictations are discarded on response by construction, and the app states its mode at every start. Taking money for software that did not exist yet would have contradicted that on day one. A card on file said a founder was serious; a charge before delivery would just have said we weren’t.

I reserved a founder place, what happens now?
The terms you reserved under stand: a single $149 charge on the day the Linux app shipped, cancellable at any time before that charge. Reopen the page you saw right after reserving to see and manage your reservation, or email hello@typemic.com and we’ll handle it directly.
Will there be another lifetime licence?
No. A lifetime licence is a permanent cost, so the number had to be finite for the pricing to stay honest. Keeping that promise is what made the offer worth anything, and it outlives the offer.
